How to use Map Garden, and where to get help.
What is Map Garden?
Map Garden is a developing web app. Currently, it allows people to create points of interest across the globe, with plant types for events, schedules, and community resources. Learn more on the About page.
Map guide
- Click and drag to interact with the map.
- Sign in in the top right to create a new account or to log in to your existing account.
- Use the Plant Catalogue (search control) in the map's top-left to find plants or places.
- Search finds plants by name, description, or label, and places by address or location.
- Use the filter button in the map's top-right to filter by plant type and other unique qualities.
- Note the key in the lower-left for understanding the plant types you are seeing.
- Clicking on the various plant types described by the key allows you to select them as a filter.
- To plant, sign in and click the map where you want the plant. You'll be asked to choose a plant type and fill in details.

Map Garden uses gardening language for familiar map ideas:

Top bar guide
- Party Mode: Try it yourself!
- Sign in: Create an account or return to yours (same form).
- Light/Dark Mode: Toggle the map between match-system-settings, light mode, or dark mode.
Tell your friends
Map Garden grows when more people add the places they know. Share the site with friends, neighbors, and any local organizations who might benefit.
